Step One
The Theme!

My Safer at Home Story
Everyone has a SAFER AT HOME Story! In the midst of a pandemic, we want to hear yours! What incredible narrative do you have, whether truth or fiction, that will entertain, educate, or impact your audience?
Step Two
Create Your Clips Video.
Your video should clearly tell a story with an effective beginning, middle, and end.
Maximize the app Clips in a creative way as you incorporate media such as video, photos, live titles, filters, labels, posters, stickers, emojis, and of course music.
All media assets must be student-created, copyright free, or licensed under Creative Commons. See the rubric for specific criteria judges will use.

Step Three
Determine a school winner for each category.
Each school is allowed three finalists that will move on to the state contest. How you select the winning finalists is up to you. Once you have made your school selection, acquire permission from a parent/guardian, and turn in your entry to the following link

Step Four
Determine a state winner for each category.
The final contest winners will be determined and announced on May 22, 2020, via email and this website.
If you have questions or need additional information regarding the contest, visit our FAQ page or email wiscoclips@gmail.com. We look forward to receiving video entries from your students!

FAQs

Who can enter?
Wisconsin classrooms in grades 4-8 are invited, and each school will select three semifinalists. Students compete as individuals and not as a group. Please contact us at wiscoclips@gmail.com if you are interested in participating.
How will my school determine the semifinalist at our level?
Schools can decide how they will determine the three winning entries at their individual location. Some are having students decide, and others have formed a committee of educators. Whatever is best for your school!
How will I submit my school’s semi finalist winners?
Each school has the opportunity to submit three videos, and individual schools are responsible for attaining proper permissions from students and parents. Final videos will be uploaded here - Video Submissions. You will export your final video to the camera roll in the form of .mov file. All entries must be uploaded by 10:00 p.m. CT on May 17, 2019.
How will videos be judged?
Videos will be judged according to the rubric, and three final winners will be selected. See Judging Details for information about how student work will be evaluated. Winners will be announced on May 24th, 2019. We are unable to provide individualized feedback due to the number of entries.
Are there prizes?
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 state winners.

How can I teach my students to use Clips?
We found this video to be especially helpful to share with students when learning how to use Clips.
